Solar Energy Records Expected to Surge in 2014
Solar Has Record Breaking Year in 2013
After a record-shattering 2013 for solar energy installation in the US, the interest in solar energy is expected to continue to rise in 2014. According to venturebeat.com, for the first time in more than 15 years, America is on track to install more solar capacity this year than world leader Germany.
“Without a doubt, 2013 will go down as a record-shattering year for the U.S. solar industry,” said Rhone Resch, Solar Energy Industries Association president and CEO. This unprecedented growth is helping to create thousands of American jobs, save money for U.S. consumers, and reduce pollution nationwide.”
Residential solar panels are the main driver for the increase in 2013 and as the new home market is looking brighter and brighter, we’ve witnessed the increase in solar panels in the Asheville area.
As the second largest source of new electricity in the US, a new solar panel is installed every four minutes in our country. North Carolina only trails California and Arizona as the state with the most solar energy.
In Asheville, we have multiple solar companies including FLS Energy in West Asheville, Sundance Power Systems in Weaverville and Thermacraft Energy Systems in Woodfin. Inc. Magazine has recognized FLS Energy as the fastest growing company in NC for the past two years as a direct result of the growth in the industry.
Judd Builders has worked with clients on various solar energy projects for commercial and residential builds and we expect solar power to become more and more mainstream in 2014.
