A recent Houzz article revealed which trends homeowners currently remodeling their homes are leaning towards in 2021.
One finding was the home remodelers were taking down less walls compared to previous years. Maybe you can attribute this to Covid and everyone wanting their own space? We’re still seeing house plans with open spaces, but we do see more multi-functional dedicated spaces like offices combined with virtual schooling areas.
Another very popular project was opening up the kitchen to exterior entertaining and living spaces. We build and remodel many outdoor spaces in the Asheville area so we see why this was so important to the homeowners who responded to the survey. We’ve all been stuck at home for so long, we understand why homeowners would want to open their space to the outdoors and bring the outdoors in.
Another trend is color in the kitchen. While white cabinets are still extremely popular among those surveyed, hood vents and islands are being painted to add a punch of color to kitchens. We love this trend and are currently seeing a lot of black and bold colors. We also have clients that love their blues and tend to lean towards softer blues.
